The Ford Falcon (XB) is a full-size car that was produced by Ford Australia from 1973 to 1976. It was the second iteration of the third generation of this Australian-made model and also included the Ford Fairmont (XB), the luxury-oriented version of the Falcon. While successful, the XA Falcon range proved to be short-lived as it gained a significant frontal appearance update to become the XB series in September 1973. In 1973, the XB Falcon (sold with the slogan "The Great Australian Road Car") was introduced with more aggressive styling, a multi-function control stalk (indicators, high beam, horn), new colours including colour-coded bumpers on the GT variants, and minor trim variations. Engine options carried over from the XA series. A Grand Sport Rally Pack option, which included bonnet scoops, striping, GS insignia and "GT" instrumentation, was available on Falcon 500, Futura and Fairmont models. The XB was a refinement of the brilliantly styled XA, the car that reasserted Ford on the Australian market in sales and launched a long history of local design. Even the base models struck a chord with the car-buying public, who helped boost production to a total of 220,765 XBs, outstripping XA sales by 68,156. This XB GS is a fine-looking car with, a 302 CID V8 2 barrel, 3speed floor all synchro. It's in a deep aqua blue with black trim, that comes with many options like a sunroof for those nice summer days and a radio cassette stereo to pump out those tunes. Many of the other added extras to this amazing machine are a sports console, seat belts, carpets, Rallye Pack, driving lights, dual mirrors, dual exhaust system, heated backlight and 18SSR 14 radials.
