Description


The Monarch fly press is an Australian-made manual screw press built in Sydney. These cast iron workhorses are used for stamping, punching, forming, coining, riveting, and general assembly pressing operations. The weighted ball-end fly lever provides momentum-driven force through the central Acme screw, with a return spring for automatic ram retraction. The T-slotted bolster plate accommodates standard tooling and dies. Monarch presses are known for their robust construction and long service life, and this example shows the crisp "MONARCH SYDNEY" casting that identifies a genuine Australian-made unit.


From the photos, this press is in good condition. The cast iron frame is intact with no visible cracks. The blue/grey paint is aged but largely intact. The screw thread and ram appear serviceable, and the return spring is engaged. Tooling pieces (punch and die sets, forming blocks) are visible on the bed. The press is mounted on a heavy fabricated steel workbench with a lower shelf, providing a ready-to-use setup.
