Description
The Metalmaster HG-840B is one of Australia's most widely used hydraulic guillotines, distributed by Hare and Forbes Machinery House and found in sheet metal workshops across the country. This unit cuts mild steel up to 4mm thick across a full 2,500mm (8-foot) width, covering the vast majority of general sheet metal fabrication requirements. A 5.5kW hydraulic motor drives the blade, and a separate 0.55kW motor powers the motorised back-gauge system for repeatable cut lengths. With 3-phase 415V/50Hz power, this machine is configured for standard Australian industrial supply.
From the photos, this 2012-build unit presents in fair to good condition for its age. The cream and red colour scheme is typical Metalmaster livery. The front operator side shows the full-width red finger safety guard running the entire cutting length, a digital readout/counter display, three emergency stop buttons (left, right, and pendant), a pendant control station at operator height, and a rotating beacon warning light. The rear view shows both safety guard doors (red perforated steel) swung open, revealing the motorised back-gauge mechanism with at least four adjustable gauge stops on linear rails.
