Description
The Massey Ferguson MF40 is an Australian-made industrial tractor purpose-built for loader and backhoe duties. This dual-function machine combines a front-end loader with a rear-mounted backhoe, making it a versatile tool for trenching, excavation, material handling, and general property maintenance. The MF40 was powered by a Perkins diesel engine through a manual transmission, and its compact dimensions make it manoeuvrable in tight spaces where larger backhoe-loaders cannot operate.
From the photos, this unit has been repainted in satin black over the original MF industrial yellow. The repaint is reasonably fresh and gives the machine a tidy appearance. The front-end loader arms and hydraulic cylinders appear intact, with a general-purpose bucket that shows heavy surface rust but maintains adequate wall thickness. A second bucket (yellow, on a pallet) appears to be included. The rear backhoe features a swing post, boom, dipper arm, and trenching bucket with four teeth showing moderate to heavy wear.
