Circa 1982 Bertram 25 Flybridge, Twin MerCruiser 3.7L Inboards, 29ft, Winnellie NT
One of the most respected names in offshore fishing boats. The Bertram 25 Flybridge is built around a deep-V hull that made the brand famous, a design that handles rough water better than boats twice its price. This one has been fishing the Top End and it shows, but the bones are solid.
The twin 3.7-litre MerCruiser inboards were rebuilt approximately 50 hours ago (502 and 572 total hours indicated). That is significant recent mechanical investment. The hull is fibreglass, structurally sound, and currently wrapped in an eye-catching game-fish vinyl graphic. Below the waterline needs a proper scrape and fresh antifoul after an extended period in the water.
The flybridge carries a stainless steel tuna tower with rod holders on the spreader bar and a Simrad radar dome mounted at the top. Searchlight fitted. Heavy-duty stainless bow pulpit, swim platform with boarding ladder, and a full cockpit with bait station at the stern.
Cabin layout is the classic Bertram 25 arrangement: V-berth forward, enclosed head, compact galley. Equipment includes dual UHF radios, stereo, stove, barbecue, sink, freshwater pump with tank, electric anchor winch, charge controller, Simrad GPS and depth sounder, 240V inverters with power outlets, life jackets, fire extinguishers, and bilge pump.
Comes on an Ezy-Bak tandem-axle galvanised trailer. The trailer is functional but shows corrosion on the draw bar and cross-members that will need attention before road use.
Hull was pulled and repainted in July 2023 and sat out of the water for four months at that time.
