2018 Ford Ranger PX MKIII MY19 XLS 3.2 Dual Cab Utility - Grey Metallic - 127,230km - Turn-Key Touring Rig, Morrison Canopy, Engel Fridge, Lithium/Solar
Comprehensively built touring rig on Australia's most popular ute platform, with quality brand modifications throughout.
Description
This 2018 Ford Ranger XLS 3.2 has been transformed from a capable 4WD ute into a fully self-sufficient touring vehicle. The 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbo diesel delivers 147kW and 470Nm through a six-speed automatic, driving all four wheels. Built in November 2018, it has covered 127,230 kilometres with the most recent service recorded at 124,592km in December 2025 at Phil Kerr Service Centre. It is offered with the owner's manual, service book, Ford key fob, and a Uniden UHF manual.
The factory tub has been replaced with a Morrison fabrication aluminium tray and fully enclosed canopy, purpose-built for extended touring. The electrical system runs twin lithium batteries with dual roof-mounted solar panels feeding through a DC-DC charger, a 300W pure sine wave inverter providing 240V power, a labelled switch panel, and a fuse distribution board. An Engel MT35F 32-litre fridge-freezer sits on a dedicated slide-out mount with Engel-branded tie-down brackets. A freshwater tank with 12V pressurised pump provides running water, monitored by an LED level gauge inside the canopy. Storage includes aluminium slide-out drawers and multiple lockable side-access compartments. The canopy roof carries an aluminium mesh rack, and the rear features a fold-down work table, LED work lights, and MaxTrax recovery boards. A fire extinguisher and digital battery monitor are mounted inside.
The cab itself is protected by an ARB steel bull bar with twin round driving lights, a Safari snorkel, and upgraded suspension with what appear to be Bilstein shock absorbers front and rear. A Uniden UHF radio is dash-mounted with an antenna on the roof. Steel side steps run the full length of the cab, and tow mirrors and a tow bar are fitted. The grey metallic paintwork is in very good condition with no visible dents or collision damage. The interior cloth upholstery shows light wear, and the rear seats present in excellent condition. A dashmat protects the dashboard. Company decals have been removed from the canopy sides, leaving faint adhesive residue.
The price guide of $19,650 to $22,750 reflects the base vehicle only and does not account for the extensive modifications. A clean, unmodified 2018 Ranger XLS 3.2 4x4 auto retails privately between $28,000 and $35,000. The Morrison canopy build, Engel fridge, lithium battery system, solar, suspension upgrade, Safari snorkel, ARB bull bar, and associated accessories represent an estimated $20,000 to $25,000 in modification value. As a complete, ready-to-go touring rig, this package would cost significantly more to replicate from scratch.
