1972 Chevrolet C3 Corvette Stingray Convertible - White - 350ci V8, 4-Speed Manual, Chrome Bumper

1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible finished in white with a black interior. Left-hand drive, rear-wheel drive, powered by a 350ci small block V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Seating for two.

Description

The 1972 Corvette holds a special place in C3 history as the final year of the chrome bumper era. From 1973 onwards, federal regulations replaced those beautiful chrome bumpers with body-colour urethane units, making the 1972 the last of the pure American sports car look that started with the C1 in 1953. This convertible is a proper example of that lineage, finished in white over a black interior with the desirable combination of a 350ci small block V8 and a 4-speed manual gearbox.

Looking at this car, the white paint presents with decent gloss and reasonable consistency across the panels, though there is visible wear and some surface imperfections consistent with a car of this age. The iconic Stingray body lines are straight, and the chrome front and rear bumpers are present and in serviceable condition. The convertible soft top is fitted and appears intact. The black interior shows honest wear across the seats and dash, with the original gauge cluster and centre console in place. Under the bonnet, the 350ci V8 sits with its original air cleaner assembly, and the engine bay presents as complete and unmodified. The 4-speed manual gearbox is a strong selling point for enthusiasts who want the proper driving experience. This is a car that presents honestly as a driver-quality Corvette rather than a show piece, and that is exactly where the value sits for someone who wants to actually enjoy it.

Chrome bumper C3 Corvettes have held steady in the collector market, with 1972 convertibles occupying a sweet spot for buyers who want the last of the chrome-bumper cars without paying big block or LT-1 money. Comparable 1972 Corvette convertibles with 350ci V8 and 4-speed manual have sold in the US$25,000 to US$35,000 range at US auctions depending on condition, which translates to roughly AUD$38,000 to AUD$55,000.
