CUSSONS LTD OF MANCHESTER AND LONDON. THE CAST METAL HEAD IS STAMPED STAND INST MK II WITH THE MAKER'S NAME AND DATE. A HANDWRITTEN TAG ATTACHED TO THE TRIPOD READS '1919 TRIPOD SIGNAL'.THE TRIPOD FEATURES THREE FOLDING TIMBER LEGS JOINED AT A CAST METAL HEAD FITTED WITH A CENTRAL MOUNTING COLUMN. METAL FOOT PLATES ARE FITTED TO THE BASE OF EACH LEG, AND A LOCKING CLAMP MECHANISM IS VISIBLE ON THE CENTRAL LEG RAIL. THE CONSTRUCTION IS ROBUST AND CONSISTENT WITH MILITARY FIELD EQUIPMENT OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR PERIOD.IDENTIFICATION:* MAKER: G.
