Condition Notes
The gilt finish shows areas of wear and flaking throughout the frame. Patches of pink-toned undercoat are visible where the gold finish has worn away, particularly on the arm scrolls, the upper edges of the backrest frame and the rear of the central cartouche. Close-up photographs show surface scratching and rubbing on the carved leaf and rose details along the arms. The rear of the central cartouche shows areas where the gilt has chipped away, exposing the base material beneath. The upholstery appears intact with no visible tears, staining or significant soiling on the seat or backrest panels. The gimp braid trim along the upholstery edges appears in place. The carved frame elements - scrolls, flowers, leaves and the central cartouche - are all present and intact. The cabriole legs appear structurally sound with carved detail intact, though gilt wear is visible at the feet and joints.signs of surface stains.
