Vintage Art Deco Radiogram Console - Used

Condition: Used

Overview
Vintage Art Deco style radiogram console in a timber veneer cabinet. The unit combines a radio receiver and a record turntable housed under a hinged lid. The cabinet features a decorative carved scroll motif above the front panel, fluted column detailing on either side, and a fan-shaped speaker grille with cloth backing. The front panel has a circular tuning dial with frequency markings (80 to 150) and four control knobs - three dark bakelite and one silver-toned. The turntable compartment is accessed via a hinged timber lid and contains a felt-covered platter and a tonearm. A separate timber and metal frame with legs is included alongside the cabinet.

Condition Notes
The cabinet shows significant wear consistent with age. The top surface has extensive finish loss, scratching, and staining across the full area. The front edge moulding is chipped and worn with timber exposed at the corners. A section of veneer is missing from the lower right area of the front panel, exposing bare timber. The speaker grille cloth has a hole visible in the centre of the fan-shaped cutout. The rear back panel is missing, with internal wiring and components exposed. The decorative scroll bar across the top of the front panel shows wear and appears slightly detached at one end. Scratches and scuffs are visible on both side panels. The turntable platter shows surface wear and discolouration. The unit has not been tested. The brand and model are not identified from the photographs.
