2012 Jayco Sterling Outback Caravan - White - Tandem Axle
Overview
This is a 2012 Jayco Sterling Outback caravan in white. It is a tandem-axle unit on an AL-KO chassis with a ball coupling, jockey wheel and stabiliser legs. The drawbar carries a tap fitting on the offside rail.
The interior layout comprises a rear club lounge dinette with pedestal table at the rear, a mid-section kitchen on the offside with a Smev cooktop and oven with grill, a stainless steel sink with drainer and a Sphere microwave mounted overhead. A Dometic two-door fridge is fitted on the nearside opposite the kitchen. A SatKing satellite receiver and a Pioneer stereo head unit are recessed above the fridge. A flat-screen TV is wall-mounted on a swivel bracket beside the fridge. The front of the van has a bed with wardrobes and overhead lockers on both sides. The bathroom is located on the nearside behind the entry door and contains a Thetford cassette toilet, a vanity basin with mirror, a separate shower cubicle with roof hatch and exhaust fan, and a Sphere 2.5 kg top-loading washing machine recessed into the vanity bench. An Ibis roof-mounted air conditioner is fitted. A rangehood is mounted in the ceiling above the kitchen area. A roof hatch with fly screen is fitted over the bedroom area. The van has 240V power outlets throughout, a 12V outlet and antenna point in the bedroom area, a battery switch in the kitchen cabinetry, and a 240V external power inlet on the front offside wall. An external utility shower outlet is fitted on the offside. A hot water system access panel is visible on the offside lower body. A gas bottle is visible in the front boot area with a regulator and gas plumbing. The front boot provides additional storage with a battery isolator switch visible inside. A spare wheel is mounted on the rear bumper bar.
Condition
The exterior body panels are generally intact in white with grey and black decal graphics. There is a chip in the rear Jayco decal on the upper rear panel. Cracking is visible in the body panel near the external power outlet and antenna connection on the front offside wall. The checker-plate lower body trim and corner moulds are in place. The alloy wheels are fitted with mixed tyres including GT Radial Savero A/T Plus on the spare. The A-frame and drawbar are galvanised and present without visible corrosion. A roll-out awning is fitted along the offside wall. The entry step well shows wear and soiling.
Inside, the timber-look cabinetry and vinyl flooring are in reasonable order. The club lounge upholstery shows general use. The front boot floor area and bedside cabinet step show scuffing and wear. The cooktop glass lid has scratches across its surface. In the bathroom, staining and dark marks are visible on the ceiling lining near the roof hatch area. The overhead cabinet lining in the bathroom has a peeling or lifting edge. Dark staining is visible on the bathroom wall lining behind the washing machine. Dark spotting is visible on the ceiling lining near the roof-mounted air conditioner and rangehood area.
