2011 Australian Koala 1oz 999 Silver-Layered Commemorative Medallion - Proof-Like Finish

The koala is the most recognisable Australian icon on earth, and this privately minted medallion does the subject justice with a beautifully detailed design and a smart proof-like finish that makes it genuinely attractive as a display piece.

The medallion features an adult koala and joey resting together on a eucalyptus branch, struck in fine relief detail and dated 2011. It carries the marking "1 OZ 999 LAYERED" - which means this is a 999 fine silver-layered (plated) finish over a copper-nickel base. To be direct: this is not the official Perth Mint Australian Koala silver bullion coin, and it is not solid silver. What it is, is a well-struck proof-like medallion with a mirror-bright field contrasting against a frosted design relief - a classic proof-style presentation that catches the eye.

Arrives in mint/uncirculated condition in a clear acrylic capsule with no visible handling marks. A clean, attractive piece for fans of Australian wildlife or Australiana collectibles.
