BRODIE KOSTECKI TOWNSVILLE CELEBRATION WHEEL & TYRE

Shell V-Power Racing Team’s Brodie Kostecki recorded a memorable Supercars win at Townsville earlier this year, but it will be the celebration burnout he will never forget.

As part of his Dunlop-shredding jubilation, the former Supercars champion and Bathurst 1000 winner clipped the concrete wall in his Dick Johnson Racing-prepared Mustang.

The incident brought an end to his celebration and forced him to limp back to Pirtek
Victory Lane where he was met by his jubilant team members. As part of their on-going commitment to the PPQ Legends Night, Shell V-Power Racing Team has put up for auction the left rear wheel and tyre from the accident as a much-prized souvenir for one fortunate collector.

It is rare that an officially-sanctioned Dunlop tyre is released to the public, especially one of such significance.

“It was certainly a very special day,” said Kostecki.

“I have the winner’s trophy and it is cool that one fan will have such a significant piece of memorabilia from that day. It would look awesome in someone’s mancave or that might just take it straight to the pool room.”

The wheel and tyre combination has been signed by Kostecki and team owner Dick Johnson and will be accompanied by three photos of the post-race accident so the new owner can create their own cool display.

PPQ LEGENDS NIGHT - SUPPORTING MOTORSPORT MINISTRIES

The PPQ Legends Night is one of Australian motorsport’s most prestigious annual charity events, bringing together champions, industry leaders, corporate partners and passionate supporters to celebrate the people and stories that have shaped the sport.

Now in its third year, the event will honour Australian motorsport legend Craig Lowndes while raising vital funds for Motorsport Ministries, an organisation that has quietly supported the Australian motorsport community since 1986.

Motorsport Ministries trains, appoints and supports a national network of chaplains who provide confidential pastoral care, peer support and practical assistance to competitors, team members, officials, volunteers and their families.

Motorsport can deliver extraordinary highs, but it can also produce enormously difficult moments. Serious accidents, injuries, personal loss, mental health challenges, financial pressure and the demands of competition can affect everyone involved. Motorsport Ministries’ chaplains are there during these moments - at race meetings and beyond - offering a trusted person to talk to and genuine care without judgement.

Their support is available to everyone within the motorsport community, regardless of their background, beliefs, race, religion or gender. Their ultimate vision is to have a trained chaplain available at every motorsport event in Australia.

The PPQ Legends Night has raised more than $200,000 for Motorsport Ministries in each of its first two years, thanks to the remarkable generosity of the motorsport industry, event partners, donors and successful auction bidders.

Every item in this auction has been generously donated, and Lloyds Auctions is once again supporting the event on a premium-free basis.

Most importantly, 100 per cent of the proceeds from every auction item will be donated directly to Motorsport Ministries, helping its chaplains continue providing care and support across Australian motorsport and invested for the organisation’s future.

By bidding generously, you are not simply purchasing an extraordinary item or experience - you are helping Motorsport Ministries be there when someone in our racing community needs them most.
