Design Details


This authentic Afghan Baluch rug displays the characteristic design elements of tribal weaving traditions. The field features three stacked prayer niche (mihrab) medallions rendered in navy and burgundy against the rich crimson ground. Each medallion is framed by intricate geometric borders and embellished with traditional cross and diamond motifs in cream and gold tones. The design incorporates vertical striping in complementary colours and small-scale geometric repeats throughout. The border features a complex multi-stripe design with alternating geometric patterns and stylised animal figures (traditional Baluch hunting motifs) in cream and burgundy.
