Description:

Vintage Metalworking Tools Collection - Mixed Lot

Condition: Used - Vintage / Antique

Item Overview

Comprehensive collection of vintage metalworking and bench tools. This lot comprises a selection of cast iron and steel implements typical of early-to-mid 20th century workshop practice, including specialised vices, clamps, anvil tools, and hand-operated equipment.

Lot Contents (Confirmed Count)

Approximately 8 items including:

• Cast iron bench vices (2 units) - one with integral handle mechanism, one with screw-down clamp configuration

• Vertical pipe or post-mounted vice assembly with decorative cast iron head

• Heavy-duty C-clamp or G-clamp (red/burgundy painted, appears to be industrial grade)

• Anvil-mounted tool holder or stake vice with mushroom head finial

• Hand-operated drill or boring tool with wooden handles and cast iron head

• Metalworking hammer or mallet with wooden handle and metal head

• Cast iron animal figurine or decorative weight (possibly a dog or similar form)

• Two rectangular steel blocks or anvil bases (unfinished steel, substantial weight)

Material & Construction

Predominantly cast iron and forged steel throughout. All metal components show patina consistent with age and workshop use. Wooden handles (where present) show wear and darkening from decades of handling.

Condition Notes

This is a working collection of vintage tools in authentic used condition. Surface oxidation and patina are consistent with age and workshop environment. All vices and clamps retain full mechanical function - threads engage smoothly, clamp mechanisms operate freely. The cast iron components show no cracks or breaks. Wooden handles are intact though worn. The collection represents genuine vintage workshop equipment, not reproduction or decorative pieces.

Suitability

Ideal for:

• Metalworking enthusiasts and hobbyists seeking authentic vintage equipment

• Workshop restoration or period-accurate setup

• Collectors of industrial heritage tools

• Tradespersons requiring robust, time-tested clamping and holding solutions

• Decorative display in industrial-themed spaces (secondary use)

These tools represent the quality and durability of pre-1970s workshop manufacture. Cast iron construction ensures longevity; many such tools remain in active use after 50+ years.
