Description:

Curated Collection of Polished Stone Specimens and Natural Mineral Points

Lot Overview

A striking assemblage of eleven polished stone specimens and natural mineral points, featuring a diverse range of geological materials and finishing techniques. This collection showcases both raw natural formations and professionally polished pieces, ideal for collectors, interior designers, or mineral enthusiasts.

Collection Composition

Upper Row:

Five natural mineral points with varying degrees of polish and refinement. From left to right: a pale tan quartz point with natural striations and partial polish; two substantial amethyst-banded points displaying rich purple colouration transitioning to pale citrine tones, characteristic of natural colour zoning in quartz; a striking banded agate or onyx point in contrasting black and white striations; and a dark smoky quartz or tourmaline point with natural termination.

Lower Row :

Six polished stone eggs and tumbled specimens in darker mineral varieties. These include deep green aventurine or similar feldspar-based stones with natural surface patterning; black tourmaline or hematite specimens with crystalline surface texture; and two distinctive banded agate eggs displaying warm brown, rust, and cream colouration with concentric banding patterns characteristic of agate formation. The final piece is a deep teal or dark green polished stone with subtle surface markings.

Material Characteristics

The collection demonstrates varied mineral compositions including quartz varieties (amethyst, citrine, smoky quartz), agate with natural banding, tourmaline, and feldspar-based stones. Finishes range from natural raw terminations on the points to high-polish tumbled surfaces on the eggs and specimens. Colour palette spans from pale translucent tones through rich purples, warm browns, and deep blacks and greens.

Condition

All pieces are intact with no visible fractures or significant damage. Polished surfaces show minor wear consistent with handling and display. Natural points retain their original terminations. The collection shows good overall preservation.

Dimensions

Largest 133mm x 39mm x 32mm

Display and Use

These specimens are suitable for display on shelves, desks, or in curated collections. The variety of forms and colours makes this an attractive mixed lot for those seeking diverse mineral examples. Ideal for collectors building comprehensive collections, gift sets, or interior styling applications.
