1974 Holden Torana Sedan - Hot Pink - 565ci V8, Aspirated
Overview
This is a 1974 Holden Torana four-door sedan finished in hot pink with silver metalflake interior panels, white racing stripes over the bonnet and boot lid, and silver lower body accents. The vehicle has been extensively built as a drag racing car, fitted with a 565 cubic inch V8 engine built by Lamprecht Race Engines (LRE). The engine protrudes through a cut-out in the bonnet and is topped with twin four-barrel carburettors, each with individual chrome-topped open-element air filters.
The interior is stripped and race-prepared with a full multi-point roll cage finished in pink, two aluminium racing bucket seats with Simpson and RCI harnesses, an aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel, an MSD Digital 7 Plus ignition box mounted on the dashboard, and an Auto Meter Sport Comp Silver tachometer with shift light. A ratchet-style shifter is mounted on the transmission tunnel. The rear of the vehicle is fitted with a wheelie bar assembly and a Simpson parachute pack. An ANDRA technical compliance sticker is visible on the roll cage. The dashboard carries a "CHAOS LC" plate. Toggle switches are mounted on a bracket above the windscreen on the passenger side.
Condition
The exterior paintwork is predominantly in presentable condition with a high-gloss hot pink finish across all panels. White racing stripes run over the bonnet and boot lid. The chrome bumpers, grille and trim are intact. A GTR badge is visible on the front grille and on the rear quarter panels. Polished alloy five-spoke wheels are fitted at the front with drag-specific front runner tyres visible. The rear wheels are wider polished alloy items with drag slick tyres.
The interior is a purpose-built drag racing cabin. The floor is bare metal and rubber, with the transmission tunnel prominent. The two aluminium bucket seats show minor surface marks consistent with use. The roll cage tubing is finished in pink powder coat. The silver metalflake dashboard and door trims are in tidy condition. Aluminium door cards with pressed detail are fitted.
The engine bay houses a large-capacity V8 with polished aluminium valve covers bearing the LRE Lamprecht Race Engines decal, braided stainless steel lines with anodised AN fittings throughout, tubular exhaust headers, an aluminium radiator with an electric thermo fan, and an aluminium overflow or catch tank in the driver-side front corner of the engine bay. A Victor Ram 2-? intake manifold casting is partially legible on the driver-side rocker cover area.
