Item Description
A handcrafted lute bearing the maker's mark 'J. Wails' on the soundboard. This is a traditional plucked string instrument featuring a distinctive pear-shaped wooden body with a flat soundboard and curved back, characteristic of classical lute construction.

Construction & Materials
The instrument displays a warm honey-orange finish on the soundboard with a darker stained back and sides. The body exhibits the natural wood grain typical of quality lute construction. A decorative rosette (sound hole surround) features intricate geometric carved detailing in the traditional style. The neck is constructed from darker wood, likely walnut or similar hardwood, with a fretted fingerboard displaying multiple frets for pitch variation.

Hardware & Components
The lute is equipped with a wooden pegbox featuring tuning pegs with dark knobs, consistent with traditional lute design.
