Item Description
A striking antique zither featuring traditional construction with approximately 40+ strings arranged across a trapezoidal wooden soundboard. The instrument displays characteristic period craftsmanship with decorative wooden pegs protruding from the upper register and a series of mechanical damping levers positioned along the lower playing area.

Key Features
Ornamental hand-painted floral motif adorning the upper left panel, depicting roses and foliage in warm ochre and coral tones against a dark lacquered ground. The design work shows the hallmark aesthetic of early 20th-century European zither manufacture.

String Configuration: Multiple courses of strings in varying gauges, with white bone or ivory dampers positioned at regular intervals along the lower mechanism. Red fabric damping strips visible between lever assemblies, indicating original or period-appropriate restoration.

Soundboard: Dark wood construction with visible wear consistent with age and use. Numeric scale markings visible along the lower edge, typical of performance zithers for reference during play.

Frame: Wooden construction with reinforced corner bracing. Visible patina and surface marks reflective of vintage provenance and handling over decades.
