<b>Description</b><br>
A cool-toned Cubist architectural composition of considerable intricacy. The scene builds an impossible classical world of sweeping curved balustrades with egg-shaped balusters, receding staircases in the upper left, rows of blue-green columns, and domed structures banded in alternating green and gold. Nested rectangular courtyards viewed from above give the composition a vertiginous, M.C. Escher quality. The whole is rendered with careful geometric precision and smooth tonal gradation.<br><br>
The palette is predominantly cool: blues, teals, sage greens, with accents of ochre and gold and cream. The draftsmanship is disciplined, with each architectural element convincingly shaded to create three-dimensional illusion. The work is signed in red at lower right. The verso bears a copyright notation.<br><br>
A cohesive and detailed work in the same artistic tradition as Lot 300 (SHASHI), and likely from the same collection consignment. The artist ISHISHIis a contemporary signed artist with no current established auction record.<br><br>
