BRIAN HIRST (1956 - ) Contemporary Art Glass Vessel - Cobalt Blue with Applied Silver Leaf - Original Presentation Box
Studio art glass vessel. Cobalt blue blown glass with applied silver/platinum leaf exterior. Elongated ovoid form. Includes original navy blue presentation box.

Description
A striking contemporary art glass vessel in deep cobalt blue with an applied silver/platinum leaf exterior finish. The form is an elongated organic oval with an asymmetrical, gently undulating rim - the kind of shape that comes from hands working molten glass rather than a mould. The cobalt glass at the upper body is smooth and highly reflective, transitioning to the metallic leaf treatment that covers the lower two-thirds with a deliberate craquelure (fine cracked) patina. The effect is somewhere between tidal rock pool and abstract landscape.

Six photographs cover the piece from multiple angles including top-down and base views. A circular maker's mark or studio seal is stamped into the base of the cobalt glass - consistent with established glass studio practice. The piece is presented in its original navy blue box with embossed lid. Exact dimensions are not confirmed from the photos but the piece appears to be approximately 20-25 cm in length based on proportions.

Well-suited to a contemporary interior as a display piece or decorative centrepiece. The cobalt/silver combination is classic and versatile. Pieces of this quality and presentation are typically retailed through gallery gift shops and homewares boutiques.

Features
* Deep cobalt blue blown glass construction
* Applied silver/platinum leaf exterior with craquelure patina finish
* Elongated organic ovoid form with asymmetrical rim
* Circular maker's mark stamped to base
* Original navy blue presentation box with embossed lid included
* Interior: smooth cobalt blue glass

Condition
* Excellent.
