The decoration is consistent across both vases and includes: large pink chrysanthemum/dahlia blooms on the neck panels; pink peony sprays with green foliage on the main body faces; teal/green scrolling lotus and arabesque borders at the neck-to-shoulder transition; and teal/green foliate scrollwork at the foot. All elements are painted on a rich black ground with iron-oxide red accent lines at the collar and foot transitions.<br>

The base of each vase carries an iron-red rectangular seal mark (chop mark) in archaic seal script, likely reading as an earlier dynastic reign mark (such as Qianlong).
