1991 Nissan Figaro FK10 - Pale Aqua (Light Blue) - 63,104km - MA10E-T 987cc Turbo, 3-Speed Automatic, FWD - Recently Complied
One of Japan's most collectible microcars. Low kilometres, just complied for Australian roads, in the most sought-after colour.
Description
Nissan produced the Figaro for a single year in 1991, allocating the full 20,000-unit production run by lottery among eager Japanese buyers. Built on the FK10 platform and styled to evoke 1960s European roadster charm, the Figaro became an instant collector's piece the day it left the factory. This example is finished in Pale Aqua, the first and most popular of the four Figaro colours, and at 63,104 kilometres represents genuinely low-use ownership for a vehicle now 35 years old. The factory build plate under the bonnet confirms Type E-FK10, engine MA10 (turbo) 987cc, and chassis number FK10-019795. The cam cover badge confirms the MA10E-T turbocharged four-cylinder: 987cc, 76PS at 6,500rpm, 10.8kgm of torque at 4,400rpm, paired to a 3-speed automatic transmission. This car was imported from Japan and received Australian compliance in September 2025 by a registered automotive workshop, bringing it fully onto Australian roads.
The Pale Aqua bodywork is genuinely impressive for its age. The light blue paint holds strong gloss across all panels, the body is straight with even panel gaps throughout, and all the chrome brightwork including the front oval grille surround, the side sill trim strip, the door handles, and the rear bumper bar is intact. The interior is one of the Figaro's great joys. Cream leather-look trim covers the two front bucket seats and the small rear bench, all in presentable condition with age-appropriate light creasing. The factory FIGARO-branded CD and cassette head unit is in place, the chrome-legged steering wheel is correct, and the period ivory dashboard with chrome-ringed twin gauges (speedometer and tachometer, with fuel and temperature sub-dials) is intact. The 4-speed automatic shifter runs through P-R-N-D-2-1 in the correct ivory-trimmed centre console.
The soft top is functional and stows cleanly, but the exterior fabric shows significant age-related discolouration and mottling consistent with 35 years of storage and use. Buyers should factor a hood refresh into their plans. The factory white-painted steel wheel covers with FIGARO centre caps show surface rust and oxidation on the painted face, consistent with age. The undercarriage photo shows reasonable condition with no obvious major structural corrosion. The original owner's manual is reported to be included.
