A substantial burr walnut upright piano by Boniisch, featuring an elegant figured wood case with exceptional grain patterns throughout. The instrument displays a three-panel glazed upper cabinet with decorative moulding, housing the internal mechanism visible through the centre glass panel. The keyboard comprises 88 ivory and ebonised keys in good working order. The case exhibits the characteristic warm honey tones of burr walnut with intricate swirling grain patterns. The lower section features panelled doors with matching burr walnut veneers. The piano sits on substantial wooden legs with brass castors for mobility. Internally, the mechanism shows the maker's nameplate "Boniisch" with decorative heraldic emblems. The action comprises multiple rows of hammers and dampers in good mechanical condition. Evidence of age-appropriate wear is visible on the case top and some surface areas, with minor veneer lifting in places. The instrument appears to be from the late 19th or early 20th century and represents a quality European piano manufacture. Suitable for restoration or as a decorative architectural feature.
