Rare Lot of 9 x 1966 Round Australian 50 Cent Coins Condition: UsedItem DetailsThe Australian round 50-cent coin was minted only in 1966 during the changeover to decimal currency. It contains 80% silver and 20% copper. Because the silver price soon rose past its 50-cent face value, the Royal Australian Mint stopped making the round version and replaced it with a 12-sided coin in 1969.
