"Portrait of Guillaumin" depicts Armand Guillaumin - Cezanne's fellow Impressionist painter and friend - seated on the ground with knees drawn up and arms crossed, wearing a soft hat with bow, his expression contemplative. A small subsidiary figure (possibly a hanging figure on a gibbet, a motif known in Cezanne's early graphic work) appears in the upper left corner. Cezanne made very few etchings in his lifetime - his known plates are a small and documented group. The COA issued by Independent Auctioneers (NSW) states this was "produced from the original etching plate." Buyers are encouraged to conduct independent research into the print's impression history and provenance beyond the current COA. Presented in an ornate gilt frame with generous double cream mat.<br>
