Description

The Queensland Centenary of Federation State Proof Coin Set, one of six state-specific sets produced by the Royal Australian Mint to mark the 2001 centenary of Australian Federation. Queensland became the fourth state to join the Commonwealth in 1901.



The set contains three Royal Australian Mint proof coins in individual clear acrylic capsules: a gold-coloured $1 coin with the Centenary of Federation logo in colour (stylised map of Australia), a silver dodecagonal 50-cent coin with the Queensland Coat of Arms reverse, and a silver 20-cent coin with a Federation youth and unity theme. All coins carry the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Elizabeth II on the obverse and appear in proof condition with mirror-like fields.



Presented in the original pink/magenta outer slipcase featuring the Queensland Coat of Arms (deer and Brolga supporters) in metallic finish, "QUEENSLAND" in script, "2001" in gold, and the official Centenary of Federation 1901-2001 logo. The inner dark navy presentation case has a Royal Australian Mint branded satin lid with some noticeable foxing/age spotting (a common issue with this style of case), and a purple/grey velvet coin insert in clean condition. The coins in their sealed capsules appear pristine.
