Description

A focused collection of Australian Lunar New Year commemorative coins in PNC format, covering the 2020, 2021, and 2022 zodiac years. The collection is notable for having multiple variants of the 2021 Year of the Ox, reflecting the strong collector market for Australian Lunar New Year issues.



The 2021 Year of the Ox is represented by at least three or four different PNC variants, ranging from standard Australia Post issues to numbered limited editions (one example numbered approx. 1308/3200). The 2022 Year of the Tiger has at least two PNC variants including a numbered limited edition with the auspicious /8888 numbering. Year of the Rat 2020 is represented by a single red PNC with golden rat imagery. A 2018 Year of the Dog ANDA (Australian Numismatic Dealers Association) show special is also present, numbered approximately 331/750, which is a genuinely limited item from the collector circuit.



Two non-Lunar items round out the lot: a Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games PNC with a gold-toned $1 coin (officially addressed), and an ANZAC 90th Anniversary Australia-New Zealand Joint Issue two-coin PNC (1915-2005) with sepia military imagery.



All items are individually sealed in clear archival protective sleeves and appear in mint uncirculated condition. The ANDA show special Year of the Dog is the standout limited piece in this lot.
