Description

The 1982 Royal Australian Mint Annual Proof Coin Set, issued in the year Brisbane hosted the XII Commonwealth Games. The insert card in the lid commemorates this milestone with the Commonwealth Games logo, making this set slightly more collectible than a standard year. The dark green backing card inside the acrylic holder is characteristic of this issue.



The standard six decimal denominations are all present: 1 cent through 50 cents, all struck to proof standard. The 50-cent carries a Commonwealth Games commemorative reverse design for this year, adding numismatic interest beyond the standard wildlife set. All coins appear in gem proof condition with deep mirror fields and frosted devices. Bronze coins (1c, 2c) show warm copper tone with no visible spots.
