Description

The 1981 Royal Australian Mint Annual Proof Coin Set in original presentation packaging. Like its 1980 counterpart, this set contains the complete six-coin decimal range: 1 cent through 50 cents, all struck to proof standard with mirror fields and frosted devices. The Arnold Machin portrait of Elizabeth II appears on the obverse (dated 1981), with the same iconic wildlife and Coat of Arms reverses as the rest of the series.



All six coins appear in gem proof condition with clean, bright surfaces. The bronze 1c and 2c display warm copper-bronze lustre with no visible spots. The cupro-nickel 5c through 50c retain reflective proof surfaces in excellent order. Overall coin quality appears comparable to or slightly better than the 1980 set.



The original white textured cardboard box, foam insert, acrylic holder, and specification information panel are all intact. The box shows minor age-related edge wear and light yellowing typical of 44 years of storage, but presents well.
