Description
The CAT 730EJ is the ejector body variant of the Cat 730 articulated dump truck. Powered by a C13 ACERT engine producing 276 kW (370 hp) with 6x6 articulated drive, 28-tonne payload capacity, and a gross vehicle weight of approximately 51,546 kg. The ejector body is the key differentiator. Instead of tipping, a hydraulic ram pushes material out the rear horizontally. That gives it a lower centre of gravity throughout the dump cycle, the ability to work safely on grades and unstable ground, operation under height restrictions where a conventional tipper physically cannot tip, and even material spread ideal for road base and fill work. These machines are significantly rarer on the used market than standard ADTs. New price on a 730EJ sits between $900,000 and $1,200,000 plus GST.
Cab interior is in good condition with all glass intact and ROPS/FOPS structure sound. The ejector body shows typical operational wear with surface abrasion and minor corrosion on upper edges consistent with earthmoving use, but structurally it looks solid with no visible cracks or floor deformation. Lower body panels have paint wear and scuffing through to primer in places. Front tyres at roughly 40 to 50 percent tread remaining, rear tandems at 30 to 40 percent and approaching replacement. Vendor advises 10,818 hours. For context, articulated dump trucks in civil and mining use regularly run 15,000 to 20,000 hours before major drivetrain work, so this machine has significant life left.
