Description
The Morooka MST-2300VD is one of the largest rubber tracked carriers available in Australia. Built in Japan by Morooka Co., Ltd., these machines are purpose-designed for hauling material across ground conditions that would stop any wheeled vehicle. Swamps, saturated clay, pipeline corridors, creek crossings, sandy coastal sites, and freshly stripped topsoil are all standard operating environments for a Morooka.
With a ground pressure of just 22.6 kPa when empty, the MST-2300VD distributes its 11,000 kg machine weight across wide rubber tracks, allowing it to traverse soft and sensitive surfaces without sinking or causing surface damage. The hydraulic V-dump body tips to discharge up to 13,400 kg of payload (24,400 kg GVM minus 11,000 kg tare). The 187kW Cat diesel engine provides the power to haul heavy loads up grades and through challenging terrain at up to 11 km/h.
This unit has had new rubber tracks fitted, representing $15,000 to $25,000+ in replacement value. The track pads show virtually zero wear with mould lines still visible. The track rollers and sprockets show normal service wear consistent with the 6,007 hours on the clock.
The cab is equipped with a SHINKO 11t carrier instrument panel featuring analogue gauges for HST oil pressure, engine oil, and HST oil temperature, plus indicator lights for Hi-Speed, Parking, Warning, and Diagnostic modes. A MAXI VISION colour rear camera with LCD display provides visibility behind the tipping body. A GME XRS Connect UHF radio is fitted for site communications. The machine is equipped with a REDARC hand brake alarm for mine site compliance, emergency stop, and dual battery/starter isolation switches.
