Description



The Hitachi ZW310-5B is a 31 tonne class wheel loader built for high-production loading in quarries, civil construction, mining support, and bulk material handling. Powered by a Cummins QSL9 turbo diesel producing 202kW (271HP), it delivers the breakout force and lift capacity to fill road trains, load crushing plants, and shift serious volumes of material. The ZW310 competes directly with the Cat 966, Komatsu WA430, and Volvo L180 and is respected across the Australian market for reliability and parts availability through Hitachi's national dealer network.



This machine is Tier 1 specification, running the Cummins QSL9 without DPF, SCR, or DEF emissions systems. On a wheel loader running 8-12 hours per day in a dusty quarry or stockpile environment, the absence of emissions equipment means fewer filters to replace, no regen cycles to manage, and no DEF consumption. Tier 1 wheel loaders consistently command a premium in the Australian used market for these reasons.



At 3,746 hours on a 2021 build, this loader has been lightly used relative to its age. The tyres show moderate even wear with good tread depth remaining across all four corners, consistent with the low hours. The articulation pivot and steering cylinder show no visible leaks. The boom and linkage are clean with the original orange paint largely intact. The loader arm hydraulic cylinders are in good condition with no visible scoring on the chrome rods.

The 4.5 cubic metre Hitachi bucket (Part LSC, Serial K181P071, dated 2021-04) weighs 2,760 kg and features bolt-on cutting edges with full wear protection. It is matched to the ZW310-5B's lift and breakout capacities and is a genuine Hitachi factory item.



Loadrite 2180 NMI certified trade scales are fitted with an L950 thermal receipt printer. This is a trade-approved weighing system (NMI 8/20A/3 Class Y(n)) that allows the operator to weigh loads in the bucket to legal trade accuracy and print dockets for customers on the spot. The Topcon Loadmaster system was last calibrated with a due date of April 2026 (calibration by Aptella, 1300 867 266). For quarry operators and anyone selling material by the tonne, trade-certified scales eliminate the need for a weighbridge and dramatically improve loading efficiency. A new Loadrite 2180 system with printer costs $15,000 to $25,000+ installed.



Kerfab GP pallet forks are included (Part LGPF8030, Serial 6810722, manufactured 2021). These are heavy-duty Australian-made forks rated at 8,000 kg lift capacity at 600mm load centre, 3,000mm wide, with 3,000mm long tines and a total mass of 1,520 kg. They are designed specifically for the ZW310-5 and attach via the loader's hydraulic quick hitch. New Kerfab forks of this specification cost $10,000 to $15,000+. Having both bucket and forks means the machine can shift material and handle palletised goods, concrete barriers, precast panels, and containers without needing a separate forklift.



Rated Operating Capacity markings on the boom confirm: Fork 6,100 kg, Jib Fully Retracted 5,350 kg, Fully Extended or Fixed 3,000 kg.



An Alemlube ILC-MAX automatic lubrication system is fitted on the upper frame near the cab. This system automatically greases all pivot points on a programmed schedule, reducing maintenance labour and extending the life of pins, bushes, and bearings. The reservoir is full with the digital controller showing operational status.



The cab features full ROPS protection, air conditioning, a steering wheel with integrated controls, and is clean with all glass intact. A GME XRS Connect UHF radio is fitted. Emergency stop is accessible. Full mine spec safety stickers, overhead power line danger charts, and a fire extinguisher are present.
