2005 Whittley Clearwater 2165 Cabin Cruiser Project - V6 MerCruiser Inboard with Alpha Leg + Ausmarine Dual Axle Trailer



Overview



This 2005 Whittley Clearwater 2165 is a fibreglass cabin cruiser offered as a project vessel, powered by a V6 MerCruiser petrol inboard with Alpha leg and accompanied by an Ausmarine dual axle galvanised trailer.



The vendor advises the engine was running well until approximately two months ago, when water entered the cylinders through the head. Upon inspection, significant rust build-up was found and the vendor advises the top end of the engine is likely no longer serviceable. The engine is currently partially disassembled and will require repair or rebuilding before the vessel can be returned to service.



The Clearwater offers an enclosed forward cabin, cockpit seating, compact galley facilities, head compartment and a useful electronics package. Equipment includes a Garmin ECHOMAP 95sv, VHF radio, 180W solar panel, starter and house batteries and a 12V electrical system.



The package is supplied on an Ausmarine dual axle roller trailer with a stated ATM of 2,630kg.



Hull and Construction



2005 Clearwater 2165 featuring Deep-V fibreglass hull construction. The hull presents in fair overall condition consistent with age and use. Minor surface oxidation is noted to the rub rail and the existing waterline antifoul is aged.



The vessel registration records identify HIN USXJL21007K405. A separate marking of QK595Q has also been noted as visible on the transom.



Motor and Drive



The vessel is fitted with a V6 MerCruiser petrol inboard engine coupled to an Alpha leg.



The vendor advises the engine was running fast and well until approximately two months ago, when water entered the cylinders through the head. Inspection subsequently identified substantial rust build-up, with the vendor advising the top end of the engine is likely no longer serviceable.



The engine is currently in parts. One cylinder head, the inlet manifold and exhaust manifold are missing. The vendor advises the starter motor, water pump, alternator, spark plugs and leads range from new to good working condition.



The engine bay remains accessible, with visible corrosion noted around some hose connections and general wear evident within the bilge area. Engine hours are not currently visible. The vessel uses a petrol fuel system.



This vessel should be considered a mechanical project and is not represented as ready for immediate use.



Cabin and Interior



The enclosed cabin incorporates a forward berth arrangement with storage throughout. Cabin upholstery shows wear consistent with age and use, while the cabin windows provide good visibility and ventilation is available through opening ports and the cabin hatch.



A compact galley area is fitted along with a head compartment incorporating a manual toilet and washbasin.

The Bimini canvas is aged but remains intact, while the non-slip deck surface presents in reasonable condition.
