Description

Official Royal Australian Mint issue honouring animals that served alongside Australian forces in wartime. The reverse features four animals arranged around a central purple poppy: a horse, a dog, a cat, and a pigeon, surrounded by a leaf and flower wreath with the "C" Canberra mintmark visible. The purple poppy is the internationally recognised symbol of remembrance for animals who served and died in war, distinct from the red poppy for human service members. Struck in aluminium-bronze with full uncirculated finish and purple enamel colour applied to the central poppy. Mintage limited to 100,000 pieces, designed by B. Scott. Presented in the original Royal Australian Mint collector card with purple-toned artwork and war animals illustrations. Coin is in pristine uncirculated condition.
