Description

A circulated example of the 1950 Malaya 20 Cents, issued by the Commissioners of Currency Malaya and struck at the Royal Mint London. The obverse carries a left-facing crowned portrait of King George VI with the legend "KING GEORGE THE SIXTH". The reverse displays the denomination "20" with date "1950" and the full inscription "COMMISSIONERS OF CURRENCY MALAYA", encircled by a beaded border. The composition is copper-nickel (not silver; the silver Malayan 20 cents were a pre-1947 issue). No mint mark is present. The coin shows moderate even wear on the portrait and reverse numerals, consistent with circulation. Legends remain fully legible. General toning with minor grime consistent with the coin's age.
