The Evoque TD4 SE is a genuinely desirable compact SUV, and the black-on-black presentation with aftermarket black alloy wheels and red body stripe accents gives this one a sharper look than standard. The 2.0-litre turbo diesel is a frugal and capable unit, and the SE spec brings leather, climate, sat nav, power seats, and alloys. On the surface it ticks a lot of boxes.
Now for the honest bit. This car has 160,835km on it, which is high mileage for an Evoque. The roof lining is sagging and the vendor says it is major. This is a known failure point on Australian-delivered L538 Evoques where heat destroys the adhesive, and once it goes it generally keeps going. Repair will run somewhere between $400 and $800 to have properly re-trimmed, possibly more if the board itself is affected.
