BMW R75/5 Model History

The /5 series marked a major step forward for BMW Motorrad when it debuted in 1969, introducing modern styling, improved electrics and refined chassis dynamics. The R75/5 sat at the top of the range, powered by a 745cc air-cooled boxer twin engine and designed as a capable touring motorcycle. Early examples, often referred to as “Toaster” models due to their chrome tank panels, have become especially collectible among vintage BMW enthusiasts.
