Description / Overview:
This is 1950s American luxury at its best. The 1956 Coupe DeVille was Cadillac's flagship two-door hardtop, and this one has been comprehensively refurbished from end to end. Engine rebuilt, transmission rebuilt, suspension refreshed, body repainted in the original Mountain Laurel and Olympic White two-tone, interior reupholstered in the correct ivory and black trim combination, and new carpet throughout.
The vendor advises the original 365ci V8 has been fully rebuilt along with the Hydra-Matic transmission. Approximately 3,500 miles have been covered since the refurbishment. The Fisher Body data plate is present and legible, confirming the original paint code 16-90 (Mountain Laurel / Olympic White), trim code 41A, and body style 6237 (Coupe DeVille). An original Cadillac owner warranty certificate is also included.
The chrome is in excellent condition across bumpers, grille, body trim, and all badging. Bodywork is straight with no visible dents, rust, or panel damage. The interior features factory power windows, power steering, power seats, and the correct ivory steering wheel. A factory AM radio and clock are present in the dashboard. Two aftermarket VDO gauges (voltmeter and water temperature) have been fitted under the dash for practical monitoring.
The car sits on Cadillac Kelsey-Hayes Sabre-spoke wheel covers with wide whitewall tyres. A folder of receipts documenting the refurbishment work is included.
