Australian Antarctic Territory 1c S.Y. Aurora - Full Sheet of 100 Stamps Australian Antarctic Territory 1c definitive, S.Y. Aurora design. Full sheet of 100 stamps. 1979-1981 Ships definitive series. MUH with horizontal storage fold - bright colours - refer to photos. Description The 1979-1981 Australian Antarctic Territory Ships definitive series features the historic vessels of Australian Antarctic exploration, printed by the Note Printing Branch of the Reserve Bank of Australia. The 1c value depicts the S.Y. Aurora, the three-masted barque of Sir Douglas Mawson's Australasian Antarctic Expedition of 1911-1914 and Shackleton's Ross Sea party. The close-up photo shows bright, vivid colours with crisp printing - the blues, browns, and whites of the S.Y. Aurora design look particularly fresh. Perforations are intact throughout. The full sheet photo shows the complete 10 x 10 arrangement with colour registration dots in the central gutter and complete selvedge margins. The stamps appear Mint Unhinged (MUH) from the face. A horizontal storage fold is visible in the full sheet photo, running through the central gutter area. This fold is a common storage mark on sheets from this era and does not affect the gum or printface of individual stamps in the rows above or below the fold line. Collectors seeking a flat, unfolded sheet should note this before bidding. Paper appears clean and white overall. Vendor describes condition as Good - refer to images. A useful entry point for AAT philately at auction pricing. Catalogue reference: ACSC L37.
