Collection of Australian Impressionist Art Print Reproductions - 11 Prints - Tom Roberts, McCubbin, Clara Southern, Yeend King and More
Eleven unframed large-format poster print reproductions of iconic Australian Impressionist and Heidelberg School paintings on heavy white paper stock, featuring works after Tom Roberts, Frederick McCubbin, Clara Southern, Henry John Yeend King, Countess Dillon, Walter Withers, and others.
Description
The Heidelberg School of Australian Impressionism, driven by Tom Roberts, Frederick McCubbin, and their contemporaries from the 1880s through the 1910s, gave Australia its visual identity. Their paintings now hang in the National Gallery of Victoria, the Art Gallery of NSW, and the National Gallery of Australia. This lot brings together eleven large-format poster print reproductions of the most celebrated canvases from that tradition, forming a curated survey of Australian Impressionism in its prime.
The collection spans the full breadth of the movement. Tom Roberts appears three times: his definitive Shearing the Rams (widely regarded as the masterwork of Australian colonial painting), the atmospheric Circular Quay harbour scene, and a charcoal burners/wood splitters bush scene. Frederick McCubbin is represented by the landmark Pioneer triptych of 1904, one of the most reproduced and recognised works in Australian art history, plus a secondary pastoral cart scene. Clara Southern contributes her peaceful bee farm homestead composition (An Old Bee Farm). Henry John Yeend King brings the only non-Australian work in the set, his Victorian garden scene Feeding the Ducks, printed with title and artist attribution below the image. An atmospheric droving scene attributed to Countess Dillon, a bullock team timber hauling scene, and a Walter Withers-attributed bush pastoral with cattle and eucalyptus round out the eleven prints.
All eleven prints are offset lithographic reproductions on heavy white paper stock with generous margins, printed in large format (most between 60 and 90cm wide). These are reproduction prints, not original artworks. They are unframed and in generally good to very good condition. Most sheets are flat to near-flat with only minor edge waviness on some pieces. No tears, significant foxing, staining, or creasing are evident across all 12 photos reviewed. Ready to frame individually or displayed as a themed wall grouping.
