1973 Chrysler Valiant E48 Charger
An exceptionally rare and highly original Australian muscle car icon, finished in the unmistakable Limelight Green and showing an indicated 101,114 kilometres.
Powered by its matching-numbers 265ci HEMI six-cylinder engine and paired with a factory 4-speed manual transmission, this genuine E48 Charger represents the pinnacle of Chrysler Australia’s performance engineering. Featuring the correct factory triple Weber carburettors, W35 wheels, and the desirable 31-spline BorgWarner differential, this is a true survivor example with outstanding provenance. A quirky and cool fact about this car, it was also used by Classic Collectibles to make their 1:18 model car.
Chrysler Valiant E48 Charger Model History
Introduced in 1973, the E48 Charger was the ultimate evolution of the legendary Valiant Charger performance range. Built to homologate Chrysler’s competition aspirations, the E48 combined the fearsome 265 HEMI engine with triple Weber carburettors, heavy-duty drivetrain components, and race-inspired suspension and braking upgrades. With just 122 examples produced and only a handful known to survive today, the E48 has become one of the most collectible Australian muscle cars ever built. Revered for its performance, rarity, and unmistakable presence, the E48 Charger stands as a defining symbol of the golden era of Australian motoring.
