Description

The first-generation Mazda 3 MPS remains one of the most entertaining hot hatches ever sold in Australia. Built in Japan in March 2008, powered by the 2.3-litre MZR DISI turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. This Metropolitan Grey Mica example has the MPS-specific bodykit complete. The aggressive front bumper, side skirts, and rear treatment are all in place. Inside, the factory MPS sport seats are in position with red MPS embroidery on the headrests and drilled alloy sport pedals underfoot. Lime green powder-coated brake calipers sit at each corner and an aftermarket pod air filter is fitted on the intake. The 2.3-litre turbo engine is present and intact in the bay.

This is a project vehicle. The head unit has been removed, the driver door card is absent, the centre console fascia is disassembled with wiring exposed, and the ignition barrel area shows damage. Various components including original parts are stored on the rear seats and throughout the cabin. Rear wheels are currently on space-saver spares with two full-size alloy wheels stored in the boot. Exterior clear coat has deteriorated on the bonnet and roof from extended outdoor storage. Headlight lenses are UV hazed. There is an ANTISOCIAL windscreen banner decal across the top of the screen. No key is supplied. The MPS platform, the turbo drivetrain, the six-speed manual, and the full bodykit are all there underneath. Project entry pricing for a platform that cleans up well when the work gets done.
