This exceptional DJR GT was purchased brand new by the vendor in December 2004 and represents the perfect fusion of motorsport pedigree and performance engineering. Built under the expert hands of Rob Herrod and Aussie racing legend Dick Johnson, this isn’t just a car – it’s a piece of V8 Supercar history.
Under the bonnet lies something truly special: a Herrod Performance-supplied 5.4L alloy block – the very same used in the 2005–2006 Ford GT Supercar. Originally designed for dry sump racing applications, the block has been professionally converted to a wet sump setup, featuring billet oil pump gears for enhanced reliability.
Power comes from a forged Boss 290 crank, bolstered by an ARP bottom-end stud kit, Manley forged pistons running 11:1 compression, and matching Manley forged rods with ARP rod bolts. Up top, the CNC-ported cylinder heads feature K-Line valve guides, upgraded valve springs and retainers, and custom camshafts, all held together with ARP hardware. Spent gases exit through 1 ¾-inch high-flow headers, catalytic converters, and a full cat-back system, all working in harmony to produce a soundtrack that’s pure Aussie muscle.
Output? Expect around 320kW at the rear wheels – translating to an estimated 410kW (535hp) at the flywheel. These figures have been verified by Herrod Performance, adding serious credibility to this powerhouse package.
Also included in the sale is the original 5.4L 320kW Boss engine that came with the car – an excellent option for purists or collectors looking to preserve this vehicle's legacy.
Inside, the car features a roof-mounted DVD player for passenger entertainment and a spare tyre mounted on a BSB Motorsport alloy wheel – because even the spare has style.
