The Rare Double Cask Edition series brings together a select number of premium casks to create a whisky that is greater than the sum of its parts. Rather than expressing the character of a single barrel, each Double Cask release is carefully composed to achieve exceptional harmony between fruit, oak and spice while maintaining Sullivan's Cove's unmistakable Tasmanian house style. Bottled at 47.5% ABV, Double Cask DC094 offers a beautifully integrated and approachable profile without sacrificing the richness and complexity expected from one of Australia's most acclaimed producers.
The bouquet opens with inviting aromas of vanilla bean, honeycomb, baked apple and ripe stone fruits, supported by notes of toffee, toasted almonds and gentle cinnamon spice. The palate is silky and full-bodied, revealing layers of salted caramel, malted biscuits, dried apricot, roasted hazelnuts and creamy milk chocolate, balanced by hints of citrus zest and polished oak. The finish is long, smooth and elegant, leaving lingering impressions of butterscotch, vanilla cream, soft baking spice, toasted oak and delicate orchard fruit sweetness.
