Description:

The Holden Commodore (VX) is an executive car that was produced by the Australian manufacturer Holden from 2000 to 2002.

It was the second iteration of the third generation of this Australian made model. Its range included the luxury variants, Holden Berlina (VX) and Holden Calais (VX), and it formed the basis for a new generation Holden Ute (VU) coupé utility and Holden Monaro (V2) coupé. The VX series was produced between October 2000 and September 2002, as a minor restyling update to the VT series from 1997. It introduced greater model differentiation along with gains in crash safety. An intermediate Series II was launched in August 2001, featuring a revised suspension system among other changes. The VX series introduced further mechanical upgrades to the 3.8-litre Ecotec V6 engine, which received changes to the engine management computer to bring power up to 152 kilowatts (204 hp). Fuel economy was also improved over the previous model by three to four percent. The optional Supercharged Ecotec V6 extended its service to the Executive and Acclaim variants, with the 171-kilowatt (229 hp) output figure remaining unchanged from the VT.
lot 935 2008 Holden Clubsport LS3

Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) was the officially designated performance vehicle division for Holden. Established in 1987 and based in Clayton, Victoria, the privately owned company modified Holden models such as the standard wheelbase Commodore, long wheelbase Caprice and Statesman, and commercial Ute for domestic and export sale. HSV also modified other non-Holden cars within the General Motors line-up in low volumes. The R8 has specification gains over the ClubSport but has the same powertrain and no performance improvements. Its standard equipment is enhanced by HSV Performance brakes which have larger front and rear discs and uprated callipers. In 2008, HSV announced that the LS3 6.2-litre engine would be fitted to all E-Series models (except for the LS7 W427) from April 2008. The LS3 power output is 317 kW (431 PS; 425 hp), whilst peak torque has not increased over the LS2. Extensive modifications to the base VE Commodore Sheetmetal and interior were introduced, most notably the unique LED taillights and distinctive side vents. The new GM 6L80-E 6 speed automatic transmission from the VE Commodore is offered, and Electronic Stability Control is standard on all models.
