About the Spaceline Odyssey Series II
Imperial Caravans out of South Australia built the Spaceline range through the 1980s and 1990s and the Odyssey Series II is the full-spec touring version of their lineup. At 17.6 feet by 7.6 feet on the compliance plate, this is a proper full-size van on a tandem (dual) axle, which gives it the road stability and tow confidence that single-axle units can't match in the same size class. Imperial's reputation was built on solid cabinet joinery, practical layouts, and vans that held together over serious kilometres. The compliance plate confirms manufacture date of 12 May 1999.
Condition and Presentation
The white horizontal aluminium cladding shows surface oxidation and age-related grime consistent with a 27-year-old caravan that has been used and stored, but the panels are straight across all four sides with no obvious dents, cracks, or delamination. The maroon and grey decorative stripe and Odyssey Series II decals are intact, and the front boot, gas bottle cradle, rod holders, and drawbar toolbox are all in place. Inside, the light timber-look cabinetry is clean and solid throughout. Blue curtains and matching pelmets cover every window. The U-shaped front dinette with its pedestal table presents well. The kitchen is complete with a Spinflo 4-burner gas cooktop and fold-down glass lid, a Spinflo gas oven/grill, stainless steel sink with chrome mixer tap, and a 3-way absorption fridge that is clean inside with a working freezer compartment.
