About the Prattline

Prattline began building caravans in Victoria in the late 1960s and quickly developed a loyal following for practical, easy-towing designs. This 1988 example is built to the classic Prattline specification: a ribbed aluminium body over a steel frame with distinctive fibreglass front and rear boot panels, a single axle running on dual steel rims, and the graduated three-tone colour scheme that became the brand's visual signature through the 1980s. Prattline's reputation was built on ease of towing and genuine Australian build quality, and this generation of van represents the brand at its mature 1980s production peak.



Condition and Presentation

The exterior presents with the character of a 37-year-old Australian caravan that has been used over the years. The ribbed aluminium body panels show age-appropriate surface oxidation, grime, and some water streaking but are structurally intact with no obvious major dents, holes, or panel failures visible. The cream, lime green, and yellow graduated stripe band on the lower body is consistent on both sides and the rear. The green fibreglass front boot panel shows surface weathering and discolouration. The PRATTLINE brand decals are present and legible on both sides and the front. Two spare wheels are carried on a rear-mounted carrier with vinyl covers. The tow coupling shows significant surface rust and the handbrake lever has surface corrosion; the coupling assembly will benefit from a service and lubrication before towing. A standard 50mm ball coupling is fitted with safety chains and a 7-pin flat trailer plug. An LPG gas bottle is mounted on the drawbar. The chassis VIN stamping is visible on the drawbar rail. Interior has not been photographed; inspection on site is recommended.
