Australia 2023 $2 Matildas Coloured Two Dollar Coin - FIFA Women's World Cup Commemorative

Elizabeth II final portrait. Royal Australian Mint. No mint mark.

The Matildas captured the country in 2023. Co-hosting the FIFA Women's World Cup with New Zealand, Australia reached the semi-finals in one of the most watched sporting events in the nation's history. The Royal Australian Mint marked the moment with this vivid green coloured $2 coin, featuring the Football Australia shield and iconic Matildas branding with "EST. 1978" on the reverse.

Here is what makes this coin genuinely interesting to collect: the obverse carries the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II dated 2023, making it one of the final Australian coins to feature her portrait before the transition to King Charles III. A double-collectible in one coin. FIFA World Cup history meets the end of the Elizabethan era on Australian coinage.

The green colour printing is fully intact with no fading or chipping. Gold-toned surfaces are lustrous. Design and lettering are crisp and sharp throughout. No circulation wear evident.
