This is an authentic traditional Chinese erhu, a two-stringed bowed musical instrument with roots spanning centuries in Chinese classical and folk music traditions. The instrument features a distinctive rectangular wooden soundboard with hand-painted decorative motifs in black ink, including traditional cloud scroll patterns and classical Chinese design elements bordered by geometric meander patterns.

Construction Details
The soundboard is crafted from light-coloured timber (likely pine or similar softwood) and displays traditional Chinese artistic embellishment. The instrument features a wooden neck and tailpiece finished in rich reddish-brown timber, with what appears to be rosewood or similar hardwood construction. Two fine tuning pegs are visible at the head of the instrument, finished in matching timber.
